Week 5

New technology tools to make your classes more interesting, more fun and to increase motivation. This is what I'm getting from this online course.

I'm anxious to implement all these tools, especially rubrics and the PBL. I've created a rubric to assess oral exams, and it's just exciting.

I need to confess that I don't like oral presentations too much. I'd tried once and it was okay. However, now I can consider to have presentations again, because I might have my students so motivated using the technology and paying attention to the alternative evaluation.

I'm motivated too, so I will be applying most of the things I've been learning here.
I'm so grateful!!

  1. Hello Marga,

We think the same about technology in education, it can make classes more interesting and it can definitely increase student’s motivation.

When it comes to oral presentations, rubrics can make them easier to assess since learners know exactly what is expected from them and how to get a better grade. If you want to implement debate in your classes I would recommend to watch my videos, I provide the links below. Other way to get your students to do presentations is to ask them to produce their own videos; the good thing about this is that it is a win-win situation since they will repeat and repeat until they get it right and you get the chance of reviewing their work at home. I am also including some of my students’ videos on the links below.

I also had fun creating my very first rubric! Rubistar is an awesome website for teachers. When I started reading about rubrics I thought that they were time consuming tools, but it turned out that they are really easy to create with the help of the Internet.

    Thanks for your reflection!
